HOUSTON, Texas – PrimeWay Federal Credit Union hosted a free gas giveaway Friday, May 22, 2015 in an effort to help morning commuters kick off their Memorial Day weekend the right way. The local credit union wanted to help all Houstonians get out and travel this past holiday weekend and upcoming summer.
The free gas giveaway took place at Exxon located at 210 W. Airtex Blvd, Houston, TX 77090, and featured free hot coffee, donuts and multiple giveaways throughout the morning. From 7-9 a.m., the first 100 cars received $25 worth of gas and members received $35 worth of gas.
Even though the free gas giveaway ended, PrimeWay wanted to continue to encourage Houstonians to get in the car and explore by launching a grand prize giveaway of one free car payment during the free gas giveaway for the best “carfie” (car-selfie) submitted to them via Facebook or Twitter.
“The free gas giveaway and PrimeWay Carfie contest were both opportunities for us to reward our loyal members and have a little fun in the city as Houstonians hit the road this upcoming summer,” said Michelle Oshinski, senior vice president of government affairs and marketing at PrimeWay.
People could enter the “PrimeWay Carfie” contest by going to the PrimeWay Facebook page and submitting their best carfie under the promotions tab or by simply tweeting their carfie using #PrimeWayCarfie. The contest is no longer open to enter, but people can still vote on the best carfie via the PrimeWay Facebook page, and the winner will be calculated by the greatest number of votes. Voting will be from Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 8:05 a.m. through Sunday, May 31, 2015 at midnight. Applicants must live, work, worship or attend school in the greater Houston area, including Harris, Fort Bend and Washington counties to be eligible.
